Rules and age policy
By visiting Bedford Cat Café you are agreeing to follow the rules below. Please understand that the rules are in place to ensure the health, happiness and welfare of our cats and customers.
When visiting Bedford Cat Café, that you are visiting the home of our cats, please be respectful to them (and their human servants) whilst visiting. You are visiting live animals and whilst the rules are in place, and staff are on hand to supervise and guide cat interactions, it is possible that a cat may scratch (accidentally or due to being unhappy or startled). Bedford Cat Cafe cannot be held responsible for such incidents.

Please regularly use the hand sanitiser provided, please wait until your hands are dry to touch the cats. This is not in place for covid reasons but to protect our cats from germs people may bring into the café.

We do not allow children under 6 years in the café and we ask that you supervise your older children (under 12) to be kind and gentle around our cats.

Please bring proof of age for children otherwise entry may not be permitted.

We do not allow anyone in the café if they appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Do not feed the cats anything (human food is often dangerous to cats) - Do not leave food unattended and always cover your food with the food cover provided to prevent grabby paws.

Please do not pick up the cats, for any reason. Feel free to pet the cats gently, but don’t pick them up as this sometimes freaks them out and may result in scratches.

Do not move cats off the chairs or laps, let us do that for you.

The cat equipment is for cats only, please do not sit or climb on it.

No vaping or electronic cigarettes in the cafe at any time.

Do not wake a sleeping cat. You may very gently stroke them, but if they seem unhappy about being disturbed, please leave them alone.

Leave the cats to roam and come to you. Feel free to call them over but do not chase them or pull them down from their cat equipment.

Do not move the café furniture.
Age policy/proof of age requirements
Bedford Cat Café CANNOT allow entry to anyone under the age of 6 years old, this includes non mobile babies. We are unable to make ANY accessions to this - due to our Animal Welfare Licence and insurance.
• Please insure you bring proof of age for ALL children aged 6-10. Proof of age can be a photo or hardcopy of a birth certificate; passport; red book; NHS letter/school letter or email that states date of birth; a COVID test result text or email and more. We try to be as flexible as possible with what we can accept but we do have to see something (if you are unsure drop us an email bedfordcatcafe@gmail.com)
• Children who are under the age of 12 must have an adult (aged over 16) to supervise them as they move around the cafe, and interact with cats, this is to insure their safety and the safety of the cats.
